two barclaycards
07. Apr 2008 at 21:24

i've got a barclaycard i've had for a good few years.  i've had an offer in the post [for 2nd time] of barclaycard charity card "as you're already a B customer, you'll find it quick and easy to get an additional credit card through us....... 0% BT and 0% purchases for 6 months.

if i was to apply for this card would they be likely to do a search on my credit file?

Hi Torryquine

Could always give them a phone to find out?

Check the fee for balance transfers, may be costly if 3% uncpapped and period is only for 6 months. On the other hand, the 6 month purchases would attract no fee, and you could pop the proceeds in a high interest paying account until it is time to clear the balance.

hi newstu thanks for the reply.  i phoned barclaycard and they said they would do another credit search so will just leave it as i've applied for egg money quite recently and noticed credit score has gone down.  just thought purchases at 0% would be useful.  will save credit search for something better.
