Banks in talks over interest rates

The Credit Card companies are meeting with the Government today to discuss interest rates.

They have been warned they are not passing on typical APR changes following changes to the base rate.

The average amount spent in a credit card transaction is about £65.

The average interest rate charged on a credit card has risen to 17.6% from 17.2% in May
